Our Heart for the Kids that Gather Here:
We believe that kids should not simply be relegated to a back room in the facility where they play games and pass the time as they wait for the adults to get done with worship. (Of course, we have fun in everything we do. But fun is not the end goal. Teaching kiddos to follow Christ is the end goal!)
Christians and churches shouldn't wait to teach kids to worship and know their Bibles until they are older. Let's start when they are young, so the Spirit can foster a love for Scripture in them from the beginning of their formative growth.
Because of this belief, we assist parents and guardians by helping keep their kids in the word all year.
*All volunteers who serve our kids and their families are church members who have completed and passed background checks conducted by Wayside Baptist Church through a reputable, national 3rd party background check agency.

Nursery for Newborns - PreK (4 years):
- Sundays @ 9:00am and 10:00am

KidsWay Groups for PreK (4 years) - 5th grade:

What Are We Learning?
Curriculum:
The pastors of Wayside personally write the Bible studies each month! We have found there to be a special, personal touch and engagement when the word is shared and taught from those who attend church with our kids who gather.
The word of God enlightens the eyes, rejoices the heart, convicts the conscience and discerns the thoughts intents of our heart, generates faith towards Christ and calls us to salvation through the Gospel. Because of this, the goal of every study written is powerfully simple: help kids understand and retain Scripture.
Our curriculum is crafted in a way that centers solely around a specific passage of Scripture (usually 3-5 verses). Kids are shown the Jesus-centered doctrines found in that passage and are challenged and equipped throughout the month to memorize as much of that passage as they can. You may be surprised (and definitely encouraged!) with how many littles memorize and quote these passages each month!

Music:
Scripture tells us to teach and edify one another in "songs, hymns and spiritual songs." Each month, our kids learn and sing a Gospel-centered song. This keeps children singing the truths they are being taught, while allowing every family to get involved in the musical fun!

Missions:
Every month, our kids are introduced to one of the many missionary families supported through the Missions Ministry of Wayside. During their kids services, kids are given the opportunity to draw pictures and write letters to that month's missionary. Those things are then sent directly to the missionaries on the field as a way to encourage them in their service!
