For the past 55 years, God has led the people of Wayside to trust him for some incredible things:
In 1969...
...he led a handful of pioneers to gather and build the first auditorium of Wayside Baptist Church.
In 1979...
...faithful believers would build Wayside's second, larger auditorium to facilitate growth.
In the '90s...
...the two then-lead pastors of Wayside would hand-build our large, open-aired pavilion.
In 2000...
...Wayside would press forward once again by building the current Family Life Center.
Now, that Family Life Center will be the site of yet another step of faith.
Since 2021, God has graciously poured out his Spirit in a fresh, beautiful way. Droves have been saved and baptized. Ministries have grown, marriages have been strengthened and families with children have flocked to the church. The church has exploded with authentic, biblical growth across all age demographics. Christ has truly been building his church!
When it comes to building and remodeling, our mindset is steadfast: we don't build and remodel to initiate growth. We build and remodel to keep up with growth! This is certainly the case with the Joshua Project!
God being our helper, the Family Life Center will be completely renovated and rebuilt to accomodate our current size and anticipate future growth. This renovation will provide:
- An additional 3600 square feet for classrooms, restrooms and a brand-new kitchen
- An 800 square foot modern, inviting foyer to welcome those that attend
- Almost 700 square feet of outdoor sitting and meeting space
- Seating for 400+ parishioners (our current seating capacity is approx. 230)
