As married believers, I think we can all say that our lives are truly "better together"!

God has put each of our marriages together according to his sovereign grace. It is his express will that our marriages last eternally, mirroring the loving, God-honoring relationship that Christ has with his bride, the church, for as long as we live on this earth. We hope this short weekend getaway with each other will assist you in doing just that!

Where We Are Meeting:

The Hyatt Place Historic Downtown Fredericksburg

1241 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, VA

Cost: $350 per couple

Registration:

September 15: $25 off for couples that register by this date

October 1: Registration closes

December 1: $100 down payment due

March 1, 2026: Remaining balance due

One couple will be chosen at random to receive 50% off their total cost once registration closes on October 1! Register today!

Check In:

Check-in starts at 3:00pm Thursday. When you arrive, simply go to the front desk and tell them your names and that you are with Wayside Baptist for the Marriage Retreat. Your rooms have been reserved by the church, under your name!

Sessions, Speakers & Schedule:

Pastor Joshua Grubbs and his wife, Kim, will be back with us again this year!

The Grubbs are gifted speakers who wear their hearts on their sleeves as they authentically share lessons of life, family and marriage that they have learned over their 25+ years of marriage.

They have been with us a couple times for marriage events, and we look forward to welcoming them again!

Thursday, March 19

3:30pm: Checkin
7:00pm: Welcome + Opening Session in Hotel Conference Room
7:15pm: Session 1 (Men + Women Splits)
8:00pm: Group Prayer

* Dinner in Fredericksburg Thursday night is dutch

* There will be snacks and refreshments provided in the conference room throughout the retreat. If you are unable to stop for dinner before the opening session, no sweat! Get a handful of snacks to hold you over!

Friday, March 20

7:30am: Breakfast provided by hotel
9:30am: Session 2
10:15am: Break + Group Picture
10:45am: Session 3
11:30am: Lunch / Freetime / Dinner
6:30pm: Session 4
7:30pm: Group Discussion + Recap

Saturday, March 21

7:30am: Breakfast provided by hotel
9:00am: Finale Session 5
11am: Checkout

We purposely wanted to give a slower, no-obligation morning on Saturday. Enjoy sleeping a little longer, go out to breakfast with friends or explore/shop a little before you head home!

What to Bring for Sessions:

Every session will be a deep-dive into a biblical concept concerning marriage. Bring your Bible and a notebook/pen to make sure you're able to follow along and glean all you can from the teaching. Snacks, drinks and coffee will be provided for each session, but feel free to bring your own snacks and refreshments to the sessions as well. (As long as it's not hard liquor or tuna sandwiches.)

Attire:

This is a casual event. This will be a low-key, informal weekend with your spouse and friends. (That being said, pajamas during sessions will be frowned upon and clean clothes are absolutely encouraged.)

Meals:

The hotel makes a phenomenal, delicious spread for breakfast each day. Snacks and refreshments will be provided by Wayside throughout the retreat. Thursday dinner, and Friday lunch + dinner will be dutch. There are TONS of great eating options within 10 minutes of the hotel!
